Jennifer Garner And Reese Witherspoon are clearly synchronous. The Family switch star shared a fun exchange between the friends, which luckily resulted in an unforgettable experience with the Rockettes!
In a video posted to Instagram on Sunday, Garner revealed how a message from Witherspoon “manifested” into an opportunity to show off her moves with the iconic dance company.
“My friend Reese sent me a DM yesterday,” Garner explained in the clip, revealing a screenshot of Witherspoon’s direct message. She urged Garner to “please go dance with the [Rockettes]after sharing a video from the group’s page. “What I’d give,” Garner replied playfully.
In her video, Garner said she happened to be in New York City at the time of the message.
“And for our entire friendship, I pretty much do whatever she says,” Garner continued.
She then texted Witherspoon a photo of her feet as she stood at the entrance to Radio City Music Hall, where the Rockettes are performing. Witherspoon ecstatically replied, “Wait!!! What??? Am I psychic????”
“No, you manifested it,” Garner texted back.
She then added a video of herself dancing alongside four costumed Rockettes dancers, even hitting their signature high kicks. Finally, the dancers wave and say “Merry Christmas, Reese!” as Garner giggles from behind the camera.
“Here’s to twenty years of ‘yes ma’am’ with my buddy @reesewitherspoon. ♥️🎄♥️ Thanks, @therockettes for playing — you guys are incredible! ⭐️⭐️⭐️,” Garner captioned the fun video.
The Rockettes also shared a video of the impromptu performance on their social media page, calling Garner an “honorary member.” At the end of the dance, the actress jokingly asked, “Do you need a 51-year-old Rockette?”

“Ummm…. This may be the greatest gift I have ever received from this glorious, joy-seeking/dance-loving woman! Jen, you made my entire holiday season 🥰❤️💫🎁,” she wrote.
The big moment comes as Garner promotes her new Netflix film, Family switch. At the Hollywood premiere last month, Garner and her co-stars pulled out all the stops and danced with a flash mob on the red carpet.
In the film, now streaming on Netflix, Garner and Ed Helms‘ characters switch bodies with their teenage children, played by Emma Myers and Brady Noon.
She joked that her own children – Violet, 17, Seraphina, 14, and Samuel, 11, with whom she shares am Affleck — “will endure absolutely anything.”
“They saw it and loved the movie. They said, ‘Mom, this is just such a fun movie.’ They really enjoyed it,” she said of her three children. “It really warmed my heart because they have to take themselves out of our relationship dynamic. They have to take me out as their mother. That’s a lot to get through just to enjoy a movie. I was so happy to hear how much they loved the movie.”
As for how she prepared to get into the mind of a teenager for the film, the 13 on the way to 30 star said: “Sometimes you just have to go your own way and do the weirdest acting things you can imagine.”
“This was one of those moments where we were playing back and forth with energy. We were playing follow the leader, we were playing like puppies,” Garner revealed of himself and Myers. “…Really weird stuff to get us used to and get comfortable with just going for it and making bold choices.”
All their resulting choices will, Garner hopes, provide entertainment for the whole family.
“I really hope families watch it all together on the couch. I hope everyone finds something funny,” she said. “Our goal was to have stuff for little kids, for middle kids, teens and adults. [I hope] that at the end they are somewhat surprised to find themselves bursting into tears. That’s just the formula that would make me happier than anything.”
