Lotto bosses reveal location of winning ticket after lucky punter bags top prize

A LOTTO punter had a Thursday night to remember after scooping a life-changing €1 million prize in last night’s Daily Millions draw.

And officials have now confirmed that the winning slip, bought before the 9pm draw, was purchased in Co Kildare.

The Kildare top prize winner has now taken the title of 34th National Lottery millionaire of 2023.

The winning digits were: 02, 15, 25, 32, 33, 35 and the bonus was 26. 

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “A Daily Million player has woken up as Ireland’s newest millionaire today after scooping the top prize of €1 million in Thursday’s 9pm draw.

“The Kildare winner has been added to the roll call of big wins for this year taking the spot of 34th National Lottery millionaire for 2023.

“In 2022, the total number of wins amounting to €1 million and above was 34 which means that we are already on par with last year.

“Our next win of €1 million or more could mean that 2023 will be an even bigger year for life-changing wins!”

Thursday’s Daily Million win marks the 8th top prize win of the year to date after punters Tipperary, Donegal, Kildare, Limerick and two players in Dublin won over €1 million in previous Lotto draws.

The National Lottery will announce the winning store location tomorrow, but they have encouraged all Daily Million players in Kildare to check their tickets in the meantime.

The spokesperson added: “We will be announcing the winning store location tomorrow so we are urging all of our players who may have purchased a Daily Million ticket in the Kildare area for Thursday’s 9pm draw to carefully check their tickets today.

“There is a player out there who now has a ticket worth €1 million! The winner should sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe.

“They should then contact our prize claims team who will make arrangements for them to collect their prize in Lotto HQ.”

TWO SEPERATE SYNDICATES SCOOP PRIZES

Elsewhere, celebrations were in order at Lotto HQ earlier this week as two separate syndicates claimed prizes of almost €4 million.

One Dublin syndicate who scooped over €3.8 million in the Wednesday, October 4 draw were thrilled to collect their cheque after winning the life-changing sum two weeks ago.

The jackpot winners purchased their ticket at the Spar store at 13 South Circular Road in Dublin 8.

And they admitted it didn’t take them too long to realise their good fortune on the night of the draw.

They said: “I was watching the draw as it happened and just knew they were our numbers that had come out.

“The numbers don’t hold any particular significance, to be honest, but I just knew they were ours.

“We checked our ticket immediately, and it was a real mix of emotions from excitement to being utterly overwhelmed. There’s just nothing that can prepare you for that.

“At that stage, we didn’t even know what the exact amount of the jackpot was or, of course, that there was another winner in Dublin with the same numbers who we were sharing the prize with!”

Elsewhere, a syndicate from Laois also made the trip to Lotto HQ to collect their €100,000 top prize, which they won on a €5 Money Multiplier scratch card.
