In an Instagram post Tuesday said Britney Spears shared a shocking photo of her burnt down gym, reopening the chapter on tragedy incident that occurred in 2020.
The 42-year-old singer took to social media to reflect on the unfortunate event, writing her post: “Thinking back to the memory of when I burned down the gym in 2020.”
The accompanying image revealed the aftermath of the fire, showing a room in great disarray. The floor looked completely gray, covered in dust, and the gymnasium mirrors were blurred with ash. The equipment was in ruins and burned to a crisp, painting a picture of the devastation caused by the fire.
Spears first revealed the gym incident in April 2020, saying on Instagram, “Yes… I burned it down. I walked past the door to the gym and the flames, BOOM!!!!!! By the grace of God, the Then the alarm went off, and hurrah, no one was hurt.” Despite the damage, Spears expressed gratitude that the situation wasn’t worse, saying, “Unfortunately I’m now down to two pieces of equipment lol and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!! But it could be a lot worse, so I’m grateful. Pssss I prefer to exercise outside anyway!!!!”
In a video, Britney elaborated on the incident, saying: “I’m at my gym right now. I haven’t been here in six months because I burned down my gym. Unfortunately. I had two candles, and yeah from one came the other and I burned it down. So I’m here and we only have two devices left.”
Britney’s recent post about her gym fire is coming soon after a source told ET that the singerwho has long been estranged from much of her immediate family, “wants to try to put aside any negative feelings” from her loved ones.
“She is actively working to reconnect with some of her immediate family and is doing her best to take the steps she feels she needs,” the source said. “It has been a long time coming and she is trying to put the past behind her and focus on a new, beautiful, loving and happy future.”
The update comes after Britney’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spearsrevealed that she had recently spoken to the singer. As for Britney’s father, Jamie Spearshas the pop star argued publicly with her father about her now ended conservatorship.

Britney’s apparent change of heart was a welcome development for her family, according to the source.
“Her family was hoping that some sort of reengagement would happen at some point,” the source added. “Everyone is taking slow and small steps and seeing every step toward reconnecting as a blessing.”
Also marked this year the end of Britney’s marriage Unpleasant Sam Asghari.
“Now that Britney is single, it’s a new chapter for her,” the source said. “She really tries to live in the moment and appreciate what she has now.”
Earlier this month, Britney thought about her new single status, calling it “weird” on Instagram.
“I’ve had a lot of time to really look back, with all the good and bad,” she wrote. “I’ve realized that I don’t talk very kindly to myself at all… I’m easily manipulated and I wear my heart on my sleeve… But I’m definitely going to change that.”
