The lucky Laois player purchased their ticket via the National Lottery app or online at www.lottery.ie.

Lotto chiefs have confirmed that a notification has now been sent to the user’s online account and a separate email to the ticket holder.

The winning numbers of the Wednesday October 11 draw were 02, 12, 16, 24, 39, 40 and the bonus was 25.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “It was a life-changing Wednesday evening for an online Lotto player in Laois who won more than €2.29 million during the weekday draw.

“The Laois player has now been crowned the 12th Lotto jackpot winner for the year to date, following jackpot wins by players in Limerick, Dublin, Meath, Donegal, Westmeath, Louth and Leitrim.”

Lotto bosses are also keen to hear from another player in Laois who won a €45,075 snowball prize in the Telly Bingo draw on Friday, July 14.

The winner has until closing time today, Thursday October 12, to claim their prize.

The winning ticket was sold at Dunnes Stores in the Kyle Shopping Center on James Fintan Lalor Avenue in Portlaoise on Tuesday, July 4.

The spokesperson said: “There is one more Telly Bingo player who has yet to come forward to claim their €45,075 snowball prize from the Friday 14th July draw.

“As today is the closing date for submitting a claim, we would like to hear from this player as soon as possible.

“The winning ticket was purchased from Dunnes Stores in the Kyle Shopping Center on James Fintan Lalor Avenue in Portlaoise on Tuesday, July 4.

“If this sounds familiar to any of our Laois players, please check those old tickets as soon as possible and contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and arrangements will be made taken so that you can collect your prize.”

LAOIS SYNDICATE

A happy working syndicate from Co. Laois traveled to Dublin to collect their €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 top prize, which they won on Saturday 5 August.

The syndicate waited over a month before initially contacting the National Lottery.

The syndicate leader said: “It’s been an incredibly exciting few weeks.

“Some people might say I have a strange routine with my lottery tickets.

“I buy my weekly ticket and always wait a few weeks before checking them.

“It gives me the opportunity to daydream a little longer in the hope that I might have a winning ticket worth a few million euros in my wallet.

“On this occasion, shortly after the draw, someone told me that the top prize of Lotto Plus 2 was sold exactly where I had bought the ticket for the syndicate.

“My ears immediately perked up and I thought, oh hello, the chance of me getting this winning ticket could become a reality.

“Any normal person would have checked their ticket immediately, but I still waited almost two weeks before actually checking the ticket.

“It wasn’t until I read that the winner of the award had still not come forward that I knew I just had to check.

“All that anticipation and build-up was even more fun when I checked and saw that we had won the €250,000 prize.”
