Lotto gambler scores life-changing EuroMillions prize as winning numbers are revealed

AN Irish player has scooped a life-changing €1,005,000 prize at tonight’s EuroMillions.

National Lottery chiefs have confirmed that one lucky punter has managed to land the impressive prize as part of the ‘Ireland Only Raffle’.

And they weren’t the only ones to score big in the draw, after 46,000 players won prizes across Ireland.

However, the huge jackpot prize of €17,000,000 was grabbed by a gambler in Spain.

The winning numbers were 29, 33, 35, 48, 49 and lucky stars 3 and 8.

At the Ireland Only Raffle, ten Irish players each won a cool €5,000, with one managing to take home an extra million.

Explaining the special draw, which only takes place a few times a year, Euromillions bosses said: “Each of the ten IOR winners in that draw will win the usual €5,000 and be placed in the extra special draw.

“One of them will also win €1 million!”

The codes in question were: I-PWB-53335, I-PWB-69089, I-PWC-06371, I-PWC-30500, I-PWC-57397, I-PWF-37757, I-PWF-70160, I- PWF-84929, I-PWG-00904 and I-PWG-34929.

There was no winner of the plus main prize, but 47 Irish people cashed in an amount of € 2,000 after matching four numbers.

The lucky numbers were: 1, 6, 16, 33 and 50.

In addition, the National Lottery continues to urge Lotto players in Monaghan to check their old tickets from Saturday 19 August as a prize worth €1,000,500 remains unclaimed.

The Monaghan player won the €1,000,500 prize in a special Lotto Plus Raffle draw event last August and now has just three weeks to claim his life-changing prize.

The winning ticket number for the draw on Saturday August 19 was 3249.

Each of the tickets with the winning Lotto Plus Raffle number drawn in the Saturday 19 August draw was entered into a one-off random draw where one ticket was selected to win an additional €1 million prize.

While each ticket holder with the winning ticket number won €500, one player won €1 million, in addition to the usual prize of €500.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Centra on Main Street in Emyvale, Co. on Thursday, August 17. Monaghan.

Because ticket holders have 90 days from the draw date to claim their prize, the claim deadline for this prize closes on Friday, November 17.

The National Lottery has encouraged Lotto players across the country, who live locally in the area or are passing through and may have purchased a Lotto ticket at Emyvale Main Street, to check their old tickets as soon as possible.

A spokesperson said: “With the deadline to claim this Lotto Plus Lotto prize fast approaching, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that the winner will be announced very soon.

“A Monaghan player has a ticket worth a life-changing sum of €1,000,500. The player could be a resident of the area or perhaps even someone who was passing through Emyvale and decided to buy a ticket during his journey.

“We hope that Thursday, August 17 will ring a bell for any player who may have purchased their ticket from Centra on Main Street in Emyvale.”
