A LUCKY gambler has won a life-changing amount of money in the EuroMillions – but narrowly missed the jackpot.
The huge jackpot of €240 million was won by one person in another country.

The winning numbers of the EuroMillions draw were: 17, 30, 42, 48 and 50.
The lucky stars drawn were 4 and 8.
A gambler in Austria got all the numbers plus the two lucky stars right and won the jackpot.
But one Irish player managed to match five numbers and win a whopping €24,836.
The numbers drawn in the Euromillions Plus draw were: 1, 16, 23, 29 and 38.
The €500,000 top prize went unclaimed, but there were 10 winners of €5,000 in the Ireland-only lottery.

In addition, Lotto players are being urged to check their tickets carefully after a lucky player won the €250,000 top prize in last night’s Lotto Plus 2 draw.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased from Meaney’s Centra in Dromcollogher, Co. on the day of the draw. Limerick.
Shop owner Colm Meaney was delighted when he heard one of his customers woke up this morning to good news.
He said: “It’s always a good time for good news, but winning this in the run-up to Christmas is really brilliant timing.
“We have a lot of local customers here in the community and there have been people talking about the win already this morning.
‘FEW HAPPY CUSTOMERS’
“We’ve had quite a few happy customers at Telly Bingo and EuroMillions over the years, so that’s what the whole chat was about today.
“There’s a real buzz around the place about the €250,000 win, so we were all delighted to hear it.
“We will likely see more of our customers coming in to check their tickets as the day progresses.
“Hopefully the winner knows how much his ticket is already worth!”
The winning numbers in the Lotto Plus 2 draw on Wednesday December 6 were: 03, 07, 12, 29, 37, 43 and the bonus was 38.
The Limerick winner, who now has a ticket worth €250,000, must sign the back of his ticket and keep it safe.
