In Dublin, winnings over the years amounted to €595,813,252, while in Cork approximately €40,075,172 was taken in, while Waterford winners took home €22,643,126.

Online players playing in the app or at www.lottery.ie came second in the official millionaires table with a total of 10 online millionaires in Ireland.

This research comes ahead of Friday evening’s special EuroMillions draw, which has a GUARANTEED jackpot of €200 million.

The National Lottery has advised players dreaming of a big win in the Friday, December 1 draw to buy their tickets early, in store, via the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie, before the 7.30pm deadline for ticket sales on Friday evening.

Since the EuroMillions game launched in Ireland in 2004, there have been 17 Irish EuroMillions jackpot winners.

If Friday’s staggering €200 million jackpot is won in Ireland, it will become the biggest ever lottery prize in Ireland, surpassing the EuroMillions jackpot of €175.4 million won in 2019 at the Naul in Dublin.

Ahead of the special draw, the National Lottery has published research detailing every prize of €100,000 and over won in Ireland since the game was launched in 2004.

In almost two decades, the EuroMillions game has created 66 millionaires across the country and paid out over €1.2 billion in life-changing prizes from €100,000 and up.

Ahead of Friday’s special €200 million guaranteed draw, a National Lottery spokesperson said: “The EuroMillions game has always been an exciting proposition for our players, with truly life-changing prizes on offer in every draw.

“Over the years we have seen some iconic moments, such as the €115 million win from Limerick’s Dolores McNamara and the group of 22 Dublin Bus drivers sharing more than €23 million.

“While these big jackpot wins will grab all the headlines, this research only scratches the surface of the hundreds of other life-changing prizes players across the country have won since the game began in 2004.”

“What’s interesting about this EuroMillions winners survey is the widespread geographical distribution of millionaires made in the game, across the country.

THE EURO-MILLION MILLIONAIRES

“Of the 26 provinces in the Republic, a whopping 17 individual provinces can boast at least one EuroMillions millionaire with in-store tickets!

“Ahead of Friday’s draw, we are reminding players planning to participate to purchase their tickets before the deadline at 7:30pm on the day of the draw.”

It came after a winning Euromillions ticket worth a whopping €500,000 was left in an unlocked car for days before its owners realized they had won big.

The large family syndicate purchased the lucky Quick Pick ticket from the Daybreak store at the Elm Court Service Station in Ballyneety, Co Limerick.

The family claimed the huge prize, which they won in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday, October 10e November.

And as they collected their huge prize yesterday they burst out laughing and admitted the lucky note had been left outside their home in Co Limerick.

The father of the group said: “You won’t believe it. I left a ticket worth half a million euros outside the house in an unlocked car.

“I had no idea we had won. During those few days it was definitely the most valuable car in Limerick.”
