Robots are taking over more and more tasks traditionally performed by humans… and artists can be more vigilant too… because machines can ink just as well as flesh-and-blood tattoo artists.
Dillon Forte — a Texas-based tattoo artist with some serious celebrity clients — teamed up with Blackdot on a new tattoo… a tech startup that created the world's first automated tattoo machine.

You have to see this robot at work… the client gets their arm strapped to a table while a giant machine starts working on the limb, using fast-acting mechanisms to tattoo.
Forte and Blackdot each took on their fair share of the work on the project… cutting the responsibility down the middle, 50-50, and creating a design inspired by NASA and the science fiction book 'The Hitchhiker's Guide to theGalaxy'. “
Take a look at the photos… a series of symbols packed with references to space, with many images appearing on NASA's Voyager Golden Record, broadcast in 1977 to give possible life a glimpse into our world. It's super hard to tell Forte's part from Blackdot's part.
We're told Blackdot tattooed the center portion of the ink, while Forte went around it… adding his own personal flair to the top and bottom. The difference is very small – it certainly makes you think about the future of tattoo artists.

By the way, Forte is a pretty big name in the tattoo world…he's inked major celebrities Guard, Kat Von DAnd Chris Hemsworth — although we'd go out on a limb and say this might have been his strangest tattoo experience yet.
We've all heard of robots on the rise… but who knows, maybe they'll follow Blackdot's example and undertake artistic endeavors!!!
