Matthew Perry was put to rest this week – and it seems the quiet gathering included his old co-stars… fit and booted to honor their late, beloved comrade.
The actor’s loved ones and fellow ‘Friends’ castmates, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc And Lisa Kudrow — attended Matthew’s funeral Friday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles… a famous cemetery near the Hollywood Hills.
In fact, this spot seems to have been chosen for a very specific reason… as it is just a stone’s throw from the Warner Bros. Studio lot – where they filmed their hit show.
Anyway, the ceremony seemed to be relatively small… with no more than twenty people standing around MP’s graveyard, and a few SUVs passing by his grave. Everyone is of course dressed in black and it seems that there are also hugs and condolences going around.
One video in particular shows the three ladies entering a church…presumably where a service was being held. No obvious sign of DS and MLB, but you have to imagine they were there.
Matthew’s funeral takes place almost a week after his sudden death. TMZ broke the story…he was found unconscious in his home last Saturday, and police believe he died by drowning – although what exactly led to that is still a mystery at this point.
The world at large reacted with shock to the news… but it took a while for the “Friends” stars to speak out publicly. When they finally did, they kept their comments short and unified, saying they were quiet coping with an ‘unfathomable loss’ to their TV family.
Now it remains to be seen if there will ever be a celebration of life for fans of Perry… but it’s no surprise that this funeral was conducted here on the DL.
The ‘Friends’ crew is pretty private as it is… and with this loss hitting as close to home as it clearly does, it makes sense that they’re handling this with a lot of care/consideration.
As we told you… a civil servant cause of death is undetermined currently, pending further testing and toxicology – not to mention an investigation by the LAPD into the exact circumstances. His body was released to his loved ones on Sunday autopsy was done.
He was 54.
REST IN PEACE
