Sacremento Sheriff
A knife-wielding suspect was fatally shot by police in California after leading officers on a wild, high-speed chase and crashing into a motorcyclist, seriously injuring him.
The Nov. 5 incident was captured on several recently released police bodycam and dashcam videos, which initially showed officers in patrol cars attempting to make a traffic stop Zachary Wolffscott in his Prius for reckless driving.
Take a look at the footage… the officers chase Wolffscott at speeds of 120 miles per hour before disaster strikes.
Wolffscott crashes into the motorcyclist, leaving the highway littered with debris from the collision.
California Highway Patrol officers arrive on scene with deputies and find the motorcyclist unconscious on the sidewalk.
The police draw their service weapons and order Wolffscott to stay in his car, but he ignores their orders and hops towards the downed motorcyclist with a knife in his hand.
An officer pumps two bullets into Wolffscott, who falls to the ground, wounded.
But Wolffscott gets up and charges at the motorcyclist with the knife, prompting the officers to fatally shoot him.
The motorcyclist was seriously injured, but ultimately survived.
Sacramento D.A Thien Ho has launched an investigation into the shooting.
