Danny Masterson settles into his third prison in two months… and TMZ has discovered why he’s on the road so often.
Despite reports claiming that concerns for Danny’s “well-being” are behind his recent transfer from one of California’s worst prisons to a more humane one, we’re told that’s not entirely the reason for the move.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ that no attack on Danny took place at Corcoran State Prison, nor have there been any credible threats against the former “That ’70s Show” star. There have been a lot of rumors/speculations that something might have happened to him, but it’s all nonsense.
As we reported… Danny started the year earlier at North Kern State Prison, a medium-security detention facility in Delano is transferred at the end of January to the maximum security CSP, the same prison where the late was once housed Charles Manson.
After a few weeks at Corcoran, Danny was transferred to the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, a medium to minimum security prison.
Like we said… all the shuffling he’s been doing lately between different prisons has had some people wondering why Masterson was being moved… and now we know.
It turns out…we’re told that North Kern is just a halfway house where inmates are admitted into the California prison system…so it’s literally a starting point, and it was never going to be his permanent facility.
Our sources tell us that Masterson had a primary prison and a secondary prison that indicated where he would be sent after being processed at North Kern…the primary prison was California Men’s Colony, and the secondary was Corcoran.

But when it was time for Masterson to leave North Kern, we were told there was no room for him at CMC… so he was sent to the backup option – the infamous CSP. It is unclear whether these were prisons that Masterson chose himself, or whether they were just where officials put him on paper.
His final move was explained to us this way – after a few months at the maximum security Corcoran, we were told there was an opening at the California Men’s Colony… so the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation sent Masterson there, since that so it was. where he should have been all along.
So there you have it: it’s being moved because of logistics… and not for any other reason.
Now Danny has some softer stuff going on while he serves his 30 year prison sentence his 2023 Los Angeles conviction. It’s safe to say that the Men’s Colony is a lot more fun than Corcoran.
