Britney Spears‘ dad, Jamie SpearsTMZ had his leg amputated a month ago, and we’re told there’s hope for a father-daughter reconciliation.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ that Jamie had a massive infection in one of his legs, which landed him in the hospital for weeks. He underwent five unsuccessful surgeries to control the infection, and doctors decided amputation was the only way forward.
Jamie is not doing well. He has had other ailments and is dejected amid the barrage of criticism over his dealings with the conservatory… something he considers terribly unfair. Remember, Jamie is the one who moved from Louisiana in 2007 to care for his daughter. Many people involved at the time say Jamie saved Britney’s life.
Here’s the interesting twist. Our sources say Britney has mellowed out towards her father lately. There were times when she said she missed her father, and even talked about sending him money to help him.
As for Jamie, our sources say he would love nothing more than a reconciliation with his daughter, and that he harbors no ill will.
As we reported, Britney has been trying to mend family fences lately. She invited her mother Lynne to LA this weekend for her 42nd birthday party, and we’re told they got along well. They talked on the phone for weeks and enter into a new relationship.
Britney was also invited Jamie Lynn to the party even though she was out of town and couldn’t attend. By the way, we know that Britney communicates with her sister. Her brother Bryan I had a great time over the weekend.
Our sources say Britney misses her family and now that she’s spoken her truth in her memoir, she wants to reconnect. Jamie would be the final piece of that puzzle.
What’s interesting… is whether rekindling a relationship with her father would have an impact on legal action over the conservatorship allegations.
