Britain’s Got Talent’s Ant McPartlin updates fans on back injury after fall

Ant McPartlin has shared a health update following his onstage fall whilst presenting Britain’s Got Talent’s live show last night (May 29).

In an Instagram video, Ant reassured fans and confirmed he will be back for tomorrow’s (May 31) episode, as his friend and co-host Declan Donnelly made fun of his memorable entrance.

In the clip, Ant said he was resting and admitted his back was “a bit sore”.

“I’m resting my back,” he told Dec. “Well, it is a bit sore,” he added, to which Dec replied: “I’m not surprised.”

Ant continued: “It was all right. I think the adrenaline gets you through it and then now it’s a bit like: ‘Ooh… I need a bit of ice on that’.”

“That was quite the fall, wasn’t it?” Dec joked, adding: “The legs went ‘whoosh’ up in the air.”

Ant then explained he was feeling fine and would be back on hosting duties for the new episode tomorrow.

“I’m alright. I’m good,” he said. “I’ll be here tomorrow.”

“Oh thank god for that, I’m not doing it on my own,” a relieved Dec replied.

During last night’s live episode, Ant slipped as he, Dec and the judges took to the “slippy” stage with guest stars Diversity, Ashley Banjo’s dance troupe.

After the fall, Ant said: “I don’t know if I am okay – I think I wet myself and farted at the same time” as Dec attempted to continue through the laughter and confirmed that “he did indeed fart”.

Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
