Barack Obama spoke out about the conflict between Israel and Palestine – and he says two things must be recognized as true…on both sides of this thorny issue.
The former president recently spoke at an event and his comments were noticed by Pod Save America – stating that his full interview will be released on Tuesday. But from the clip they released, BO says quite a bit… and fully admits that this is complicated.
Take a look for yourself to see what exactly he’s saying… essentially condemning Hamas and October 7 terrorist attack about Israel – but in the same breath condemns Israel’s response.
He says there are innocent people in Gaza who are caught up in this and have nothing to do with Hamas… and yet he also points to the history of Jews being separated/persecuted because of their identity as a people. In other words, there is validity in every POV here.
As for the people debating the issue, Obama says it can’t be eradicated from social media — and that it can’t be solved unless everyone tells the “whole truth” about a complex subject.
He also says that people need to learn how to talk to others on the other end and be able to do so in a polite manner. He encourages everyone to recognize that there is complicity on all fronts. It’s a word salad, but if you’re wondering what he’s actually arguing about… you’re out of luck.
Barack doesn’t really say what he thinks should happen in the future, nor does he indicate what exactly he’s asking for right now… at least not in what’s currently being uploaded. We may hear more from him in the coming days.
Busy. Bidenhas meanwhile called for a “pause” in the fighting… but Israel is not backing down. Their ground operation in Gaza continues as they try to hunt down the terrorists.
