Boris Johnson paid $350,000 for 30-minute speech and fireside chat

By the time he was in Downing Street, however, he made net zero a key part of his domestic policy agenda and would go on to play a central role in Cop26 in Glasgow, where he reinforced the message “green is good”.

The speech came after The Office of Boris Johnson Ltd appeared on Companies House as a newly-incorporated firm.

Michelle Williams-Walker, who is listed as its director, was Mr Johnson’s head of operations in Downing Street and also ran his ‘Back Boris’ leadership campaign in 2019.

He is not the first former prime minister to tour the after-dinner speaking circuit. Mr Johnson’s predecessor Theresa May, who is signed to the Washington Speakers’ Bureau, earned more than £1.86million in her first two years since returning to the backbenches.

The Office of David Cameron, meanwhile, made a profit of £836,168 in the year ending April 30, 2019, an increase from the £790,274 generated the previous year.
