Humpback whale with no tail noticed swimming off US coast

A humpback whale with no tail was noticed swimming off the coast of Washington state, newly-released footage exhibits.

The animal seemingly misplaced its 15ft-wide tail – also referred to as its flukes – after changing into entangled, probably in some sort of line or fishing gear in line with consultants.

That lack of the flukes, that are a whale’s main mode of propulsion within the water, is a probable dying sentence for the creature, final reported as seen in late July.

Entanglement is likely one of the hazards confronted by humpbacks, together with strikes or harassment by ships or boats and potential impacts of local weather change on meals.
