Charles returns to public duties as William and Catherine to miss key event – latest

Chemotherapy is a term used to describe the treatment of someone diagnosed with cancer and is used to kill cancerous cells – although Kate specifically used the term preventative chemotherapy.

The appearance will be the first major event for Charles, 75, since he was diagnosed with cancer in February.

Officials said Tuesday Charles and Camilla will be accompanied by other members of the royal family at the Easter Sunday service at St. George’s Chapel.

However, the Prince and Princess of Wales are not expected to attend.

Sarah Ferguson said she is “full of admiration” for the Princess of Wales after Kate announced she was being treated for cancer, adding: “I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal.”

The Duchess of York posted on social media: “All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment.

“I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome.

“As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness.

“I hope she will now be given the time, space and privacy to heal.”

“He is right that this message by the Princess of Wales was handled brilliantly by her and the royal family and the people supporting her. She should now be left in peace to continue her treatment with her family’s support – not least the King, who knows exactly what medical page she is on, as he undergoes his cancer treatment.”

Queen Camilla attended a reception to mark the findings of a new research study commissioned by The Queen’s Reading Room charity, at Clarence House in London on Tuesday evening.

Receiving news like that can change your entire world. I knew it would change mine, but I was more concerned about how it would affect my daughter, Ilani. She was only six at the time – how are you supposed to tell a child that young that mummy is very, very sick?

There will be an “inevitable” reduction in royal engagements after the Princess of Wales joined the King in sharing her cancer diagnosis, an expert on the monarchy has said.

The managing editor of Majesty magazine Joe Little said it was a “significant moment for the monarchy” that two senior figures should be out of action, adding that Kate’s announcement on Friday evening was a “great shock” to many people.

He said the Queen’s profile had “come to the fore” in recent weeks because she has had to attend more engagements alone.

On 24 March, Entertainment Tonight reported the departure of Prince William, Kate, and their three children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five – from Adelaide Cottage in Windsor toward Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate. The family of five travelled by private helicopter to spend Easter break with King Charles, 75.

However, the outlet stated that William and Kate will not attend Easter services with others in their family so Kate can rest.
