Aged for 200 years: 18th-century champagne bottles found in shipwreck



Divers found 18th-century champagne bottles sitting untouched on the backside of the ocean in early July.

A staff of Polish technical divers from Baltictech discovered the vessel round 20 nautical miles off the Swedish coast.

As soon as underwater, they discovered a Nineteenth-century crusing ship in “excellent situation” loaded to the brim with drinks and porcelain.

Divers estimated the ship was carrying greater than 100 bottles of champagne, in addition to baskets of mineral water in clay bottles.

Baltictech mentioned the water got here from Selters, a German model which nonetheless exists at the moment.

The cargo was produced between 1850-1867, the divers added.
