The 2022 World Cup groups are in the final stages with A, B, C and D all wrapped up after Wednesday’s action.
England came out on top in the ‘Battle of Britain’ to knock Wales out and book their place in the last 16, where they will face Senegal.
The final games in Group C proved to absolute thrillers as goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Julian Alvarez ensured Argentina beat Poland 2-0 and topped Group C.
But Poland qualified second thanks to a late Saudi Arabian goal in their 2-1 defeat to Mexico.
At one point, though, second place was going to be decided by the number of yellow cards, with Poland and Mexico possessing identical records until Salem Al Dawsari’s stoppage time goal.
And Poland’s reward for finishing second is a game against France – as Les Bleus topped Group D despite their 1-0 loss to Tunisia.
Meanwhile, Australia will face Lionel Messi and co after their 1-0 win over Denmark ensured the Socceroos made it to the knockout stage of the World Cup for just the second time.
