A great chip out of the bunker gives Thomas a birdie chance on five, and he drains it with no problem to move to +2.

Im gets out of the sand on 14, and Sharma goes short with his birdie putt. The South Korean can’t sink the putt for par and he’ll move level with his playing partner on +2.

Thomas makes par once more on three, and his tee shot on fair makes the fairway.

On 10, MacIntyre is lying just off the green as he opts for the putter. He’s well short, but should be able to guide in the par shot – he misses though, and it’s +4 for the Scottish Open champion. He’ll be so disappointed with that one.

He approaches the tee on the Railway 11th working against a gentle wind, but he’s landed not too far from the tracks, among the crowd.

At the eighth, Adam Scott narrowly misses a birdie attempt that would’ve taken him to level par, but he’s had a good start to the day.

Im and Sharma are looking to continue their impressive morning form on 13, and the latter sinks a lovely birdie to move to +2 and four-under for the day.

Back down on two, Thomas skims a birdie putt. No joy so far for the American as he remains on four-over.

On the eighth, MacIntyre has yet another birdie opportunity, but it skims the hole! So unlucky. His tee shot on ninth is good though, coming up level with the fairway bunkers.

On 11, Im and playing partner Sharma both have a birdie chance once more, but neither can sink it.

Harman could only make par on the first hole but he’s got a birdie chance on the second…
