It’s time for the 2022 World Cup knockout stages – and if the groups are anything to go by – we’re in for a treat.
After Belgium and Germany were both knocked out on Thursday, more drama followed on Friday.
Despite beating Ghana 2-0, Uruguay were sensationally dumped out by a last-gasp winner from South Korea over Portugal, sparking incredible scenes.
Then Cameroon pulled off a stunning, late 1-0 victory over Brazil, but it wasn’t enough after Switzerland beat Serbia in a fiery five-goal thriller.
And Brazil face an injury crisis after Gabriel Jesus and Alex Telles were ruled out for the remainder of the World Cup.
Today, the Netherlands return to action against USA and Lionel Messi’s Argentina take on Australia in the first last-16 games.
