The overall crime rate in Boston in 2021 was 100 crimes per 1,000 people, making it the most dangerous medium-sized town in Lincolnshire.
The crime rate came in 25 per cent higher in the market town than the Lincolnshire overall crime rate of 75 per 1,000 residents.
Kim Fulcher, 26, a shop assistant and cleaner, said: “People have been killed in Boston before, but not children. It’s just disgusting, I have a niece and nephew who are about the same age as this girl.
“I was working at the time and people were just ringing and ringing me about this.”
Another woman, who did not wish to be named, added: “There’s no humanity in the world. It’s just cruelty, that’s it.”
