The lucky Irish punter will win a HUGE sum in the draw as the winning numbers are announced

A LUCKY Irish gambler has won a life-changing amount of money in tonight's draw – but narrowly missed the jackpot.

Just one number away from the jackpot, the lucky player matched five numbers and the bonus to walk away with €87,616.

If they had matched the final tally, they would have won a whopping €5,688,840.

The winning numbers drawn were 6, 30, 33, 34, 40 and 47 with bonus number 44.

And players hoping to hit a big score in the next draw will be happy to hear that Wednesday's big jackpot is expected to be €6 million.

The winner is encouraged to sign the back of their ticket and contact National Lottery headquarters to claim their prize.

There was another player who missed out on the top prize in the Lotto Plus One draw, again having five numbers and the bonus.

They walked away with €5,000 – just one number away from €1,000,000.

The winning numbers were 6, 30, 33, 34, 40, 47 and the bonus was 44.

There was also no top prize winner in the €250,000 Lotto Plus 2 draw.

Another gambler matched five numbers and the bonus and won €2,500.

The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 6, 11, 22, 41 and the bonus number was 5.

There were 91 winners of the lottery, each winning €500.

The winning lottery number was 5275.

Earlier this week, an Irish Lotto player pocketed a life-changing sum after winning the top prize of EuroMillions Plus.

The cash winner, who bought his ticket in Cork, won €500,000.

The winning numbers were 2, 3, 14, 21 and 24.

Lotto bosses are urging winners of prizes worth €10,000 or more to “sign the ticket, keep it in a safe place and call the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 222 666 or email [email protected]”.

There was no winner of the EuroMillions jackpot, which was worth a whopping €29,416,867.

The drawn numbers in the main draw were 8, 11, 23, 32 and 44. The lucky stars were 9 and 10.

In total, more than 46,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.

There were also ten winners of the Ireland Only Raffle Prize, worth €5,000.

As there was no overall winner of the EuroMillions jackpot of €29,416,867, the top prize will be carried forward to the draw on Tuesday 26 March.
