Lucky Irish punter wins huge Lotto prize of €51,000 after purchasing voucher at Dunnes Stores

A LUCKY Irish punter has become €51,144 richer this St Patrick's Day after scooping the prize in last night's Lotto draw.

Lotto players in Drogheda, Co Louth are today being urged to check their tickets from last night's draw very carefully.

One player matched five numbers and the bonus to win the money.

The Wee County winner entered the prize after purchasing his Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw at Dunnes Stores, Colpe Cross in Drogheda.

The lucky numbers in question were 10, 12, 22, 29, 30, 41 and the bonus was 15.

Lotto bosses said: “More than 89,000 Lotto players across the country won prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws on Saturday evening, with the biggest winner of all being a Louth player who matched five numbers and the bonus.

“The Wee County player got his St Patrick's Day celebrations started early after scooping €51,144 in the Bank Holiday weekend draw.

“We encourage all our Lotto players in the Drogheda area, who may have purchased their ticket at the Dunnes Stores Colpe Cross, to check their tickets carefully today and contact our prize claims team as soon as possible.”

And it has been confirmed that the huge jackpot, which was not won by any player last night, is expected to exceed €5 million.

The Lotto spokesperson added: “As there was no outright winner of the €4,935,700 jackpot in last night's draw, Wednesday's Lotto jackpot will now roll towards an estimated €5.2 million.”

It comes as another lucky Lotto player celebrates after matching five numbers and the bonus to win €87,233.

The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased from the Centra store at the Maxol petrol station on Athlone Road in Ballymahon, Co. on Sunday, March 10. Longford.

The winning numbers in the draw on Wednesday March 13 were: 02, 09, 23, 25, 28, 34 and the bonus was 35.

Longford Lotto players are urged to check their tickets carefully today as one player now has a ticket worth €87,233.

The winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe.

The Match 5+Bonus winner should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected]. Arrangements will then be made for them to claim their prize at Lotto HQ.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “Wednesday's Lotto draw saw more than 67,000 players across the country win prizes in the Lotto and Lotto Plus draws.

“A player from Longford took the title of biggest winner of the night after matching five numbers and winning the bonus in the midweek draw, winning €87,233.

“The winner purchased their Quick Pick ticket from the Centra store at the Maxol petrol station on Athlone Road in Ballymahon on Sunday, March 10.

“We urge any of our players who may have purchased their tickets at that particular gas station this weekend to check their tickets carefully.”
