The Wee County punter scooped €3,523,021 as the top prize in Wednesday’s draw.

It is the second Lotto jackpot won so far this year.

The National Lottery said the winning store location will be announced tomorrow.

The winning numbers in the February 14 draw were 01, 05, 10, 15, 44 and 47 and the bonus was 45.

Lotto players in Louth are now being urged to check their tickets carefully.

Wednesday’s jackpot winner is advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it safe.

They should contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected]. Arrangements will then be made for them to collect their €3.5 million prize.

A National Lottery spokesperson said: “It may be known as Wee County but the festivities are sure to be big in Louth this week, with one Lotto player winning more than €3.5 million during Wednesday evening’s draw.

“The midweek multi-millionaire has officially taken the title of second Lotto jackpot winner of 2024 and fifth National Lottery millionaire of the year so far.

“We encourage all our players who purchased their tickets in Louth to check their tickets carefully today as one player has a prize worth €3,523,021 waiting for them.

“The first thing the jackpot winner will need to do is sign the back of their ticket and then contact our prize claims team who will arrange for Ireland’s newest millionaire to visit Lotto headquarters to collect his life-changing prize.”

Syndicates collect prizes

It comes after two syndicates claimed €1 million each from Lotto’s headquarters earlier this month.

A group from Kildare collected their prize after winning the jackpot of the Daily Million draw at 2pm on Sunday 28 January.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Monread Fare petrol station on Monread Road in Naas, Co Kildare.

A spokesperson said: “The day after the win there were friends texting and talking about the win, but I hadn’t even realized at the time that we had the winning ticket.

“It was only then that I thought about scanning the ticket.

‘Directly on the phone’

“I received the message that I had won a lot, so I immediately called the Claims department.

“The person on the other end of the line asked if I was sitting and to be honest, I probably should have lay down for the news that followed.

“I really couldn’t believe it and then of course I had to convince the rest of the syndicate, which was a challenge in itself!”

The syndicate admitted that it will take some time for the top prize win to sink in, so they will take time to plan their next steps.

The spokesperson added: “Once the check has cleared we will make our plans.

‘Too good to be true’

“It all still seems far-fetched and too good to be true, so we’re still having a good pinch-me moment.”

Meanwhile, a Dublin syndicate also came forward to collect a prize from the Millionaire Raffle on New Year’s Eve.

The winning ticket was purchased from the Mace store on Muckross Avenue in Perrystown, Dublin 12.

A spokesperson for that group said: “I had a few cards on the table at home and I said I would check them all at once.

‘Some shock’

“To say I was shocked when I checked this one out would be an understatement.

“I looked at the actual results on the website so I could immediately see that I had the winning number, but I didn’t really believe it until I spoke to the Claims team to confirm the win.

“It’s been over a month since the draw itself and I had even heard where the winning ticket was sold at the time, but it wasn’t even recorded that it could be us.

“Thank God I decided to check those tickets when I did.

“Once I spoke to claims and they said it was definitely the big one, that was it.

“We were then excited to go to Lotto headquarters to hand over the ticket ourselves.”
