I won a huge Lotto amount after taking a wrong turn and buying a ticket at a random store

TWO lucky Irish players traveled to Lotto HQ to collect their top scratch card prizes worth €150,000 and an eye-watering €200,000.

And one player, from Co Cork, picked up his huge prize after “taking one wrong turn” and coming across a shop he had never been to before.

The Rebel County winner won a whopping €200,000 on a €10 All Cash Spectacular National Lotto scratch card.

He bought the lucky ticket at the Centra store in Castlelyons, Co. Cork, after a trip that didn't quite go to plan.

Explaining the stroke of luck, the winner admitted: “I was completely lost.”

He continued: “I was driving around Castlelyons, somewhere I'd never been before, and I had no idea where I was.

“I must have taken a wrong turn and got completely off the beaten track.

“I finally came across the shop and told myself I might as well buy a scratch card as I've never been here before and who knows if I'll ever be back.”

He shared that it's “probably the best story” ever to come from getting lost, and said his lucky win came just weeks after he won money with another scratcher.

He said: “I got a shock when I saw all those zeros.

“The funny thing was that I had only won €100 with a scratch card two weeks in advance, so I had to be lucky.

“They say good things happen in threes, so we'll have to wait and see what the next step will be. Maybe I can be back here soon!”

Meanwhile, a Limerick man who bought a €7 All Cash Surprise scratch card was over the moon when he saw the top prize of €150,000 appear on his ticket.

The player purchased the newly launched €7 All Cash Surprise scratch card from The Ambassador Daybreak store in Dooradoyle.

And the Treaty County resident is already one of four €150,000 grand prize winners available in the game.

In the National Lottery winners room, the Limerick man told how he was stunned to see such a huge win on a scratch card.

THE €7 All Cash Surprise is a brand new scratch card from the National Lottery.

For the first time in Ireland, it is a scratch card with a digital game that can be played on a smartphone or desktop computer.

In total, the brand new game contains four top prizes of €150,000.

Three of those amounts are still up for grabs.

Winners are urged to treat a lucky ticket as if it were cash as it is the only valid proof of a game played and must be presented in order to claim a prize.

You must sign the back of all winning tickets before presenting them for payment.

He said: “I get one scratch card every week, it's my little treat to celebrate the end of a long week.

“I saw the sign for the new All Cash scratch card in the store and my curiosity got the better of me.

“It didn't take me long to realize I had won the top prize as my winning number appeared on the first scratch on the panel. I thought a mistake had been made.

'Simply incredible'

“Once I called the Lottery Claims department it was so obvious: I had won €150,000. It's just unbelievable.”

He admitted he's still “trying to get my head around it” and hasn't told anyone about his incredible luck yet.

He explained: “It's a huge amount of money to get everything at once, so I'll have to keep a cool head.

“I haven't told anyone about it yet, so I'm looking forward to going to Limerick with the check to surprise my family. Of course I will spread the joy with them and take care of them as much as I can.

“But I will also have to treat myself and I have already started planning a nice holiday to soak up the victory.”
