A LUCKY EuroMillions player has told how she lost a winning Plus ticket worth €500,000 for a FULL week.
Nuala Croke, from Wexford, bought the quick pick slip in Corrigan’s Spar Supermarket, Main Street, Oulert, Gorey on August 19.

She travelled to Lotto HQ in Dublin with her family yesterday to collect the life-changing prize.
And she told how she almost lost out on the winnings after misplacing the slip worth €500k.
She said: “I went into the shop to pick up some bread, milk and a packet of biscuits. I had a few bob left over so I purchased one line of a EuroMillions plus ticket.
“When the winning shop was announced, I didn’t think I won because I’d convinced myself I’d bought it in another shop.
“My friend Bridget told me to go check my ticket, she had a feeling I was the winner, and when I went to look for the ticket – I couldn’t find it anywhere!”
However, Nuala found the ticket in her purse a few days later – and was over the moon when she found out she scooped the prize.
She added: “It was only a couple of days later, low and behold I found the ticket in my purse.
“So, I gathered some friends together in my house and I rang the National Lottery Claims Department.

“That’s when they informed me my ticket was worth €500,000! Well, the entire room erupted roaring and cheering it was just electric.”
Nuala said she plans to share the cash with her family and spoil her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She added: “I’m looking forward to sharing the prize out with my family members. I have ten children, twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, I can’t wait to spoil them.”
Last month, the National Lottery created five new millionaires across the country.
A spokesperson said: “What a month it’s been for Irish players this August which saw one massive Lotto Jackpot win and four new millionaires made in the special EuroMillions ‘Ireland Only Raffle’ draw.
“We are asking all our players in Galway and Kildare to check their National Lottery accounts and tickets to see if they are the winners of the EuroMillions ‘Ireland only Raffle’ draws on Friday 19th and 26th of August.
“Both players should contact our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email [email protected] and arrangements will be made for them to claim their prizes.”
