Watch the Savannah Bananas Dance to Beyoncé’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’

Who needs that radio station in Oklahoma if you have the Savannah bananas!

The wildly popular team (baseball’s version of the Harlem Globetrotters) was popping Beyonce‘s new country song “Texas Hold ‘Em” on Friday night in Arizona for one of their many choreographed dances. You can see the team – led by their pitcher in a yellow cowboy hat – making dance moves on the mound as his fellow infielders follow close behind.

The best part? The catcher goes down too! At one point he flops on his stomach under the referee’s legs! The Bananas are in Peoria, Arizona taking on the Party Animals (think Washington Generals).

And anyone who’s ever attended a Bananas game or seen one of their many viral videos knows it didn’t stop there. The team also found a way to get Swelce involved. Bananas owner Jackson Olson donned blonde locks to channel his inner self Taylor Swiftwhile Michael Deeb played the role of Travis Kelce while he walked Fast Olson to the batter’s box as “Karma” blared from the speakers.

The announcers had fun with it too. One of them can be heard saying, “I mean, it’s really something that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce chose a banana ball game for their first public appearance since the Super Bowl.”

Beyoncé’s new song made headlines this week when Oklahoma station KYKC 100.1 FM explained that it would not play “Texas Hold ‘Em” as requested because “we are a country music station.” The network has since addressed the situation after learning that Bey had recently dropped the country-themed songs. “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” are the first two singles from Beyoncé’s newly announced album, due out March 29.

Meanwhile, Swift is in Melbourne, Australia, where she said Friday she was “stars struck” after performing in front of 96,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the largest audience she has ever performed in front of.

By the way, the Bananas also pulled off an incredible stunt last week as WWE legend Johannes Cena took the field in full uniform and took part in a crazy at-bat. Before walking into the batter’s box, Cena, who said he hadn’t played baseball since he was 15, jogged to the mound and raised his championship belt.

Then came the at-bat, which can only be described as squat-tastic. He struck and looked, and the hunk almost stole the show with the way he called him up.

Classic banana baseball.
