Selena Gomez takes a step back from social media. The 31-year-old turned 31 on Tuesday Only murders in the building star took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she would be stepping away from social media for the time being.
Gomes, who previously took breaks from social media in February And October last year shared the news along with a video of her boyfriend, Benny Blancoplaying with two children.
“I’ve been off social media for a while,” Gomez wrote alongside the clip. “I focus on what really matters.”
What matters to Gomez is clearly Blanco, who she started dating in June. In fact, her loss at the Golden Globe Awards was made easier by Blanco being by her side. She even shared a photo of them kissed on her Instagram Story and declared, “I won.”
Gomez’s decision on social media comes after she made headlines at the Globes her whispered conversation of Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller. During a commercial break during the ceremony, Gomez went to Swift’s table, presumably to spill some tea on her longtime friend.
The whispers sparked several fan theories online, the main one being Gomez’s request Timothée Chalamet for a photo and Kylie Jenner had said no. However, ET has learned that Gomez never went up to Chalamet and Jenner and asked for a photo. She never saw them, ET has learned.
Shortly after, Chalamet further closed the theorysays A TMZ photographer that he is “of course” cool with Gomez, adding that there is no feud between them and Jenner. “All’s well,” he said.
Gomez himself later went to the comments section on an Instagram post about the Chalamet/Jenner theory to share what she was really talking about during the conversation with Swift, writing, “Noooo I told Taylor about my two friends hooking up. Not that that’s anyone’s business is.”
