Prince Harry & Meghan Markle stand behind parents advocating against social media companies…and they’re using a viral one Mark Zuckerberg moment to emphasize their point.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared a statement about Wednesday’s Senate hearings on social media on the Archewell Foundation website, expressing support for the victims and outlining some of their own experiences speaking to families who have experienced.
In the statement, PH and MM applauded parents who are standing up to big social media companies, adding: “The best parenting in the world cannot protect children from these platforms”… all in all, a pretty light-hearted, boilerplate statement from the royal couple.

The big news here… they chose a recording of Zuck from yesterday’s hearing as the large image above their statement – a photo showing MZ’s surprise apology to parents and victims of child sex exploitation via social media.
As we reported… Mark was questioned during the committee hearing with the senator Josh Hawley peppered him with questions until Zuck was basically forced to turn around and apologies to the crowd in general.
The crowd held up numerous photos of victims as Mark apologized and mentioned the measures he said Meta is taking to prevent other children from becoming victims.
Well, it seems the Sussexes are clearly on the side of victims and advocates… not surprising considering their charity work to combat sex trafficking and child slavery. Plus, they’re parents themselves – and they have a lot of experience dealing with agitators online, too.

Still, it feels a bit like they’re also shooting Zuck in the same breath… which is interesting. Makes you wonder if they’ll make another us-versus-them deal.
