National Television Awards 2022: Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield ‘forced to queue’ at bash

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were reportedly forced to queue at the National Television Awards 2022 on Thursday night – after they were criticised for ‘queue-jumping’ as the late Queen lie in state last month.

In footage obtained by The Sun, This Morning host Phillip, 60, was seen climbing the stairs into the OVO Arena Wembley in London with the rest of the attendees after walking the red carpet with his daughter Molly, 29, after posing on the red carpet.

It comes after the TV presenters caused outrage with the public when they turned up with two colleagues at Westminster Hall where Queen Elizabeth II lie in state for what they say was to report for This Morning.

The finance journalist turned Moneysupermarket.com founder told the crowd at London’s Wembley Area on Thursday when picking up his trophy: ‘When you’re up against a treasure like David Attenborough, you don’t expect to win. Whoever said we’ve had enough of experts, we haven’t. We need them more than ever.

‘It’s been a pretty horrible year financially. I’m afraid the next year, with the mortgage problem and the knock on to rents, is going to be pretty bad and we need someone to get a grip on the economy and put things better.

‘I’ll leave that to my show which is back on next Tuesday – tonight this nerd is going to party.’
