A prominent Hollywood editor is getting professional flak for his recent arrest for child endangerment – and despite speculation he will continue working on a major Amazon Prime show… TMZ can confirm he’s out.
Thirty-nine years old Christopher Charkowski was arrested last week in LA County on charges of intentional cruelty to a child, possibly resulting in injury or death – and a video has been circulating online showing him abusing a child in a home.
Law enforcement sources tell us that this clip – home surveillance footage making the rounds on social media – was submitted to authorities as part of their investigation into the case. Court records list the date of the alleged crime as June 2022.
The case was filed in November, but Charkowski was not arrested and booked by police until January 4. What is shown in this video is disturbing to say the least and could be an important piece of evidence as this case progresses. .
In the clip you see a man going crazy and looking for what appears to be a little boy. You can see him putting his hands on the child, choking him and possibly even throwing some punches.
It’s unclear what the relationship might be between the adult and the child, but at first glance it appears that police had plenty of reason to believe it was Charkowski in the video.
By the way, he has been released on bail – and future court hearings are scheduled.
As for who Charkowski is in showbiz… he’s worked in post-production for many major TV shows. He recently edited videos for ‘Jury Duty’, which was the talk of the town last year, and was even nominated for the Golden Globes last weekend.
Charkowski is listed as part of the editorial staff on that series – and after this video came out, people were calling for Amazon to drop it ASAP. Welp, a source with direct knowledge tells TMZ that Charkowski is no longer affiliated with the studio.
We’re told his role on “Jury Duty” — which spanned eight episodes — came and went after production wrapped nearly a year ago, and our sources say he was an outside contractor on the show, not a regular employee of Amazon. /Freevee.
Since then, our sources say he hasn’t worked at Amazon at all — and it’s safe to say he won’t be coming back.
Another show he’s worked on for a long time is Bravo’s “Below Deck Mediterranean,” but a production source tells TMZ … he hasn’t been with them in about two years now.
We contacted Chris…he had no comment.
