Police are investigating allegations of neglect related to the “Good Times” star's care John Amos and the investigation is just beginning… TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us that a case has been opened here in Los Angeles to investigate Amos' daughter's claims. Shannonwho we're recently told called Adult Protective Services to claim her father was having health problems… and her brother, KCdid not give him proper care.
Our sources say APS made a report based on what she claimed and then sent the report to the LAPD… who then launched an investigation.
We're told police are aware of all the back-and-forth claims between Shannon and KC. bad blood between John's children has been widely publicized, but the investigation will focus specifically on these new allegations.
There's also this development… TMZ has learned that the beloved actor was recently hospitalized, though we were told it was just for a routine checkup and that there was nothing serious wrong with him. We even spoke on the phone with John, who assured us that he was doing well.

It is unclear if police are aware of the hospital visit, or if it is in any way related to Shannon's allegations. In any event, John and his representative have repeatedly denied any neglect claim.
