‘Full House’ cast pays tribute to Bob Saget two years after his death

It’s been two years Tragic death of Bob Sagetand his former Full house co-stars and friends came together to share their love, their sadness and their memories.

Johannes Stamos took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a video chat clip between himself, Dave Coulier, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, who spoke about the impact of Saget’s absence on their lives.

“It almost gets weirder as time goes on because I’m like, ‘Wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve heard from Bob,’ and then I’m like, ‘Oh…’” Barber shared. “It’s so strange not to have received a crazy long text message from him or a neurotic phone call for two years.”

A tearful Stamos explained that the loss feels like a stabbing pain that you start to get used to after a while, but that the pain “never goes away.”

He echoed this sentiment in his captionwriting: “Two years! Hard to believe. As time passes, that sharp pain I felt in the beginning… has become a part of me. It doesn’t feel as overwhelming as it did in the first year. Maybe I just got there got used to it, and I’m not sure how I feel about that.”

“Part of me wishes I wouldn’t get used to this feeling. If I don’t think about it every minute, it means I’m getting used to him not being there anymore. But I also know that Bob would want me to move on with my life. But it also feels wrong to let it drift away. It’s so annoying that death is a part of life,” he continued. “When we first get close to someone, we never think about a future without him or her. Maybe that’s a good thing, but I’m not so sure. And you know what? That’s okay. It’s all part of grieving, of remembering someone who meant so much to me.”

‘What I’m trying to say is: I miss him. A lot. Every day. But I’m also grateful for the time we had, for the fun, for the friendship. He was one of a kind, and I was lucky enough to call him my friend,” he concluded. “I love you honey. Thank you for being part of my life.”

Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, also honored the second anniversary of her husband’s death with an emotional tribute, writing that the time since she lost him “feels like a week and an eternity at the same time.”

“I chose this photo of Bob because it was not only the last photo he shared and one of the last texts he sent me, but because it perfectly captures how he wants us all to remember him. With his guitar , on a stage, doing what he loved: making people laugh, making people happy,” she wrote, alongside a photo taken just hours before his death while he was on tour with his stand-up comedy.

“I will be forever grateful that I had the opportunity to share life with this special person for six years. What a blessing,” she continued. “And grateful that I can look back on endless memories, photos and videos with smiles, laughter and yes…still tears. It is such a gift that I got to know his complete and all-encompassing love and heart.”

Rizzo concluded, “Again, please do what Bob would do and hug your loved ones, hold them tight and tell them you love them again and again.”

Saget was also honored by his fellow co-stars in their own heartfelt tribute, which they shared on Tuesday.

The beloved sitcom star and stand-up comedian died in a freak accident in a hotel room in Florida on January 9, 2022, after he fell in the shower and hit his head.

Back in October, Stamos spoke to ET about Saget’s deathand his last meal with the comic before the accident.

“You know, tomorrow is never promised. It sounds like a stupid cliché, but man, you never think that’s going to be the last time you see someone,” Stamos said. “He was everything I wanted Bob to be.”

According to the actor, when he first heard about Saget’s untimely death, it came just a few weeks after Stamos had been the subject of a death hoax, and he simply didn’t believe the initial reports.

“But unfortunately it was true. It was a defining, terrible moment that I can still imagine today,” Stamos said. “My son was sleeping, I got out of the car and my knees hit the asphalt in this parking lot.”
