Carmen Elektra is saying goodbye to her birth name and embracing her iconic stage name for good… because her name change request has officially been granted!!
TMZ has confirmed that the iconic 'Baywatch' actress/model legally got the name she wanted about two months ago – according to new legal documents obtained by TMZ.
Two months after she announced her intentions in court, she is now legally recognized as “Carmen Electra” instead of her birth name Tara Leigh Patrick about government documents and such.
We broke the story… CE filed on December 29, 2023, and we were told at the time that her reasoning boiled down to wanting a fresh start for the new year.
Of course, it's been ages since anyone called her Tara, while Carmen has been rocking her super cool name since she burst onto the scene back in the day.
If you didn't know the backstory of how she even got her stage name, it was actually a late icon Prince who gifted it to her when she auditioned to be part of a girl group he was putting together in the early 1990s.
Sadly, she didn't make the cut for Prince… but she paved her own path to stardom, making waves on TV and beyond – and of course the name Carmen stuck.

It's safe to say… her cool name has become synonymous with her iconic status as a pop culture icon, so it's only fitting that she turned it into the real deal.
Say hello to Carmen, everyone!
