Bryan Greenberg Joins 'Suits: LA': What We Know About the Spinoff

Bryan Greenberg joins the To take universe.

Deadline reported on Thursday that the One Tree Hill And How to make it in America alum has been cast as a series regular for the To take called a spin-off Suitable for: LA The casting news comes just in time, as production is expected to begin in late March in Vancouver, the location where Suits filmed the majority of episodes during its nine-season run on the US network.

In addition to the above shows, Greenberg is also known for his roles in Hulu's The Mindy Project and the 2011 rom-com Friends with benefits. He will star opposite Forest Whitaker in the upcoming MGM+ series Emperor of Ocean Park.

In the To take spinoff, Greenberg plays Rick Dodsen, Ted Black's (Stephen Amell) protégé in Black Lane Law's entertainment department. Greenberg's casting comes a month after it was announced that Amel was joining the cast to play the role of a former New York prosecutor who reinvents himself to represent the most powerful clients in Los Angeles.

The news comes after ET confirmed that NBC has ordered the pilot for the spinoff of the hugely popular series that starred Gabriel Macht, Patrick J Adams, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty And Gina Torres.

Suitable for: LA. Also starring Josh McDermitt as Stuart Lane, Lex Scott Davis as ERica Rollins, Troy Winbush as Kevin and Alice Lee as Leah.

The logline for the series reads: “[Ted’s] The company is at a crisis point and to survive he must take on a role he has filled with disdain throughout his career. Ted is surrounded by an amazing group of characters who test their loyalty to both Ted and each other as they can't help but juggle their personal and professional lives. All of this takes place as events from years ago slowly unravel, leading Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved.”

To take creator Aaron Korsh will executive produce the series along with David Bartis, Doug Liman and Gene Klein. Victoria Mahoney will direct the pilot episode.

The news comes months later Deadline reported that Korsh was developing a new legal drama that would not be a reboot of the original show, but rather in the same vein as the CSI And NCIS franchises.

Suitable for: LA is the second spin-off of the original series, which aired from 2011 to 2019 experienced a revival in recent years thanks to its arrival on Netflix. Pearsonwhich followed Torres' Jessica Pearson as she navigated the law and politics in Chicago, was canceled in 2019 after one season.

The original To take form recently reunited at the Golden Globes 2024, without Markle.

“It's so nice to see old friends again,” Rafferty says told ET Before the ceremony, Macht agreed: “It's exciting. I'll see some of my cast members from the show. I'll see some friends from some movies I did years ago. It's fun to to be recorded in the evening.”
