Brian Tyree Henry: Aaron Taylor-Johnson would make a great James Bond

Brian Tyree Henry agrees with fans who think Aaron Taylor Johnson would be the perfect James Bond.

Talking to ET's Denny Directo at the premiere of his new film, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empirethe 41-year-old movie star said when it comes down to it rumors that are Bullet train co-star will soon transform into 007he couldn't be on board anymore.

“Everything about it is perfect,” says the Causeway actor told ET. “He's absolutely unobtrusive, he looks great, he's a great actor.”

With a wink at the camera, Henry added: “I hope I can be his Bond villain.”

In the 2022 film, the American actor and the English star, 33, played chaotic and lovable work partners Lemon and Tangerine, the pair in possession of a briefcase that Brad Pitt's character was looking for. Their hilarious back and forth banter became a highlight of the film, with some even calling for Henry and Taylor-Johnson to are getting their own spin-off movie or series.

It is yet to be confirmed whether Taylor-Johnson – who will appear next The autumn man starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt – has accepted the role of 007. “I can only really talk about the things I'm going to show and tell,” he said. “So The autumn man, Nosferatu, Kraven the Hunter. I'm here to promote it.”

While Taylor-Johnson continues to promote his own upcoming films (and seemingly dodges 007 questions like Bond dodges bullets), Henry is similarly keeping his sights on promoting films. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

In the new installment, the Atlanta alum reprises his role as Bernie Hayes from the 2021 film. Godzilla vs. Kong. He described working on another installment in the beloved universe as an escalation from the original film and “punk rock.”

“This one was a lot more punk rock. You know [director] Adam Wingard, a great leader, came in with the vision that we wanted to strengthen. It felt more like an upgrade for both of them,” he said of both titular monsters. “As you can see, Godzilla has pink spikes and King has the fists. We scream 'Oh my God' 170 times. So it felt more punk rock. It felt like a KISS concert.”
