The team behind the viral, and failed, Willy Wonka experience has some ground to make up for, and Billy McFarland — a man intimately familiar with that situation — wants to give them a chance to get it right.
We spoke to the founder of New York's Fyre Festival and had to ask him about the Wonka disaster in Britain that captured the world's attention… and immediately reminded people of Billy's own failed festival.
ICYMI … photos of a pop-up Willy Wonka experience in Scotland have been all over X and other social media platforms with people complaining about how truly lame and disgusting the whole thing was.
And Billy agrees. He immediately says that he thinks the organizers should make it up to the kids for the one-star factory tour as soon as possible, and IF that happens… he offers team Wonka a spot at Fyre Festival II.

Remember, Billy had a similarly and legendary bad experience in 2017 in the form of a music festival for high-paying fans in the Bahamas. The scheme was terrible and Billy later pleaded guilty to defrauding investors. He served approximately four years in prison.
McFarland says he wants to give the Wonka people a chance to do things right in Fyre 2…albeit with some guardrails to keep everything on track.

Billy clearly has the second Fyre Festival in mind… and says it will take place sometime next year, but his partners will announce the date as soon as they are ready. For now, he's taking on more of a marketing role and trying not to go overboard and do too much.

And it looks like Fyre tickets are going fast… with Billy telling the world on Thursday that Fyre II presale requests have been received for approximately $110 million in tickets.

Obviously, second chances can be very lucrative – so the 'Wonka' people might want to consider taking Billy up on his offer!
