British e-commerce company Modern Milkman was the fastest growing company in the UK between 2019 and 2022, a report has found.
The eighth annual FT1000 rankings of the Financial times And Statistical is based on sales growth in the three years to 2022.
Modern Milkman, an e-commerce startup, came out on top with a compound annual growth rate of 322.3 percent. The company offers dairy products in plastic-free packaging and reusable glass bottles.
The survey also covered 2021, which saw record-breaking investment in businesses. Equity investments in small British companies almost doubled that year, reaching a record £18.1 billion across 2,616 deals.
The fastest growing company in Europe was Czech Republic-based Raylyst Solar, which distributes solar panels across the continent. The company recorded a compound annual growth rate of 824.4 percent.
The second fastest growing company in Britain is recruitment company Join Talent, which recorded a compound growth rate of 296.8 percent. The company offers clients a recruitment solution that adapts to peaks in talent demand throughout the year.
Join Talent founder Katrina Hutchinson O'Neill said she was initially denied support from a support group aimed at female entrepreneurs because they believed the business did not have “hyper-scale potential”.
“We have defied those expectations, but how many others have been held back?” she said. “In the coming years, I want to do everything I can to give other enterprising women who come after me better access to support than I experienced – and I hope that they will make it even more successful than we were.”
