The person mountaineering the world looking for uncommon cheeses

I confirmed up with obscure instructions to the shepherds’ summer season camp, which was deep within the valley. That is a theme: the cheeses I discover are all the time far out, made by hermit sorts sticking to the previous methods out of sheer stubbornness. It was drop-dead attractive, simply me and my backpack. The valley ends on an abrupt cliff, with deteriorating medieval stone towers. Shepherds construct their camps from the decay. I noticed how these guys milked sheep by hand with wood pails, rustic-style. It is a feta-like cheese known as Tushuri guda, aged in inside-out sheepskins. On the finish of the season, I walked about 130km (81 miles) again down the valley with them and 300 sheep. The herd has accomplished this for generations – they know the place to go. The shepherds simply coordinated, and it created this loopy lawless feeling with canines barking and me, chasing stray sheep down ravines.
