A day-tripper has instructed the BBC how he dived into the water to attempt to save a mom and daughter drowning off an Essex seaside.
Craig Bowe, 42, battled the incoming tide at West Mersea, close to Colchester, 3 times after listening to screams on Wednesday night.
The kitchen fitter, who was on a day journey from Hertfordshire to rejoice his daughter’s tenth birthday, managed to haul Shally and Samiha Rahman from the waves and in addition helped a seven-year-old boy onto a lifeboat.
Regardless of his efforts, the pair – aged 41 and 15 – died within the determined try to carry the boy to shore.
The boy, who turned stranded throughout a household time out from Barking, east London, was airlifted to hospital and remained there in a essential situation on Friday.
