Amanda Bynes isn't interested in talking about her child star past – especially because of the Nickelodeon documentary – because she simply hasn't had a bad experience… TMZ has learned from this.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … both Amanda and her parents — Rick And Lynn — were approached to tell their stories on “Quiet On Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” but we're told they all chose not to participate.
Our sources say Amanda — who we're told hasn't seen the documentary — declined to participate in an interview because she felt she simply didn't have anything to say that would further their cause. In other words, she didn't experience what the 'QOS' subjects did.
Rather, our sources tell us Amanda is grateful for what she was able to do with her start at Nickelodeon — as we're told she acknowledges it launched her career at the time.
As for her parents… our sources say they are private people and therefore wanted to stay out of the spotlight. Unlike Amanda, we're told that they actually watched the documentary and were both saddened and disgusted by the accusations.
But again, we're told that the family unit as a whole didn't experience what these other child actors did while they were at the network… and therefore it didn't make sense for them to sit down for it.
As we all know, Amanda played alongside from 1999 to 2002 Drake Bell — WHO revealed that he had been abused by dialogue coach Brian Peck. Peck was also credited in some episodes of 'TAS'.
Some of Drake's former costars, such as Jos Peck who also appeared on “The Amanda Show” – have released in the past few days … say they have watched the documentary and lament the horrors their fellow actors claim to have faced.
By the way… one of the 'Quiet On Set' episodes focuses heavily on Bynes, including how she was discovered at the Laugh Factory in the mid-'90s – so it seems a little strange that Amanda isn't interested in peeking into the series at all not…especially since she's a focal point in it.
Of course, it goes without saying… Amanda has been through her own personal story – conservatorship, etc. – and in the aftermath, it's clear she wants to leave the past in the past and focus on other ventures. including her flourishing career in cosmetology.
Amanda is much calmer these days… and she hasn't spoken to the doctor publicly. Now, though, we know how she feels about it — and there's no bad blood on Nick's part.
