Christie Brinkley says she was diagnosed with a form of skin cancer, which doctors discovered early on – and they got it out of her too… something she has documented with graphic photos.
The former model shared some behind-the-scenes footage of her health journey on Wednesday — posting photos of her recovering after a procedure she underwent to remove basal cell carcinoma… which she says she's lucky was removed quickly.

Christie writes, “Doctors removed the cancer and stitched me up to perfection like a haute couture Dior. The good news for you is that this can all be avoided by being diligent with your sun protection!”

She goes on to say… “I was lucky enough to find mine because I accompanied one of my daughters to HER check-up. The doctor looked at every freckle with a magnifying glass… it wasn't my appointment so I didn't want to say anything , but at the end I asked if he could look at a small dot that I could feel while I was applying my foundation.”

Christie says the doctor then suspected something was wrong with what she showed and ordered a biopsy, and before you know it… cancer cells were discovered.
Like we said… Christie has posted photos showing the cancer near her temple being removed – and let's just say they're very detailed and gory. So not for the faint of heart.
FYI: An estimated 3.6 million cases of basal cell carcinoma are diagnosed annually, according to the Skin Care Foundation …but the good news is that the cancer is curable if caught and treated early.
Glad Christie is doing well now!
